At the very very top you'll find the FAQ icon with the blue circle, and then just to the right is the Search function.
It's not very helpful though. Just google search as CollegeGirl says above unless you're looking for posts by a specific author. Then the search becomes useful.

http://www.google.com and put in your search terms followed by site:cpaptalk.com . So if I wanted to find all the posts on the rubberband trick, I'd put in the search box on google:
"rubberband trick" site:cpaptalk.com
This brings up all relevant results from cpaptalk.com. Much more efficient.
Cool trick, CG!
Out of curiosity, I googled for this:
all links rested gal site:cpaptalk.com
It displayed them MUCH better than through the search feature here on the board.
But here's something that made me laugh out loud, literally! In the Google list was this, which made it appear as if
I had written that comment:
Topic: LINKS to topics about recall of resmed S8 machines - rested gal ... I sure do have to give Resmed credit for voluntarily recalling all these units! ...
ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps

I reached out and asked members for help. In a more formal and organized forum, I'm not certain I would have felt as if my quest for help would be welcomed. The formality would lead me to think it was a serious forum and that members may not want to be bothered.

If I had easily found my way, I would not have benefited from getting to know those who helped me.
gasp: I understand your feelings and reasonings. But I wouldn't automatically think that 'organized' results in being 'formal'.
The newly proposed format would not stop anyone from reading all new posts on any subject, and 'could' make it easier to find an interesting article, previously read. I'm not 100% convinced that it would be an improvement, but I do like the idea of general categories.
I'm sold. I too want general categories - Now, here's the quandry. I voted once to leave forum the way it is. If I vote for general categories, then in essence I nullify my prior vote So, I would need to vote twice for general categories Oh, my head hurts thinking about it.

You can't vote twice and you'll be out-voted anyway.

Good old Den--He is always reassuring and positive!
I hope you are chuckling, Den, I just cannot pass up a chance to tease you a bit.
