Just curious.... If you won the vantage at an auction, why do you need to pay for it.? The new price from cpap.com is $514 for the same thing less the used mask.

Just thought it sounded fishy. Sorry if it offends you. Good Luck jim

Also you gain a AUTO, and lose C-Flex, that wouldn't be a trade I'd want to make. Jim

Even with the problems the "M"agic has had, If I couldn't get a "Tank", the "M"agic would be my second choice.

Jim,

If he won it at an auction, he would have to pay for it. He probably bid on it and had the winning bid. Kinda like when you bid on something on eBay--once the sale is closed, if you're the winning bid, you pony up the cash!

Pam

Actually, the Magic Pro w/ HH goes for $596. Nevertheless, he may need to take a hit in order to find someone willing to buy it. Most people are not willing to buy used (even if barely) unless there is a significant discount.
mth712 wrote:An online auction, sorry for the confusion. The seller wants payment Today and I planned to pay Thursday so the deal may fall through. The M-series Pro with humidifier is $596 and the mask is about $125 so lets say $725. The mask is used once and the blower on the machine has 52 hours....

Anyone think I should just buy the M-series Auto at CPAP.COM if determined to get an Auto or go through with the S8 Vantage with humidifier for $350?
That's your decision. You may not be able to sell your M Pro today unless you take a bigger loss ... then the discounted Vantage may not be as good a deal. Your call.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but I considered purchasing a used machine and learned a lot when I asked questions here.

While the price for the Vantage seems really good, there are some things you might want to consider in case you haven't. I considered purchasing a used Auto and got a lot of good feedback about questions to ask. Here's the thread: viewtopic.php?p=159383

I also can't help but think about this new thread: viewtopic/t19175/Resmed-Autoset-Spirit- ... ed-it.html It seems if water ever got into the machine you're purchasing, the life of the machine will be limited.

Your profile indicates that you don't think the M-Series humidifier provides much humidification. Many people think the Resmed humidifiers don't humidify much - my impression is they provide less humidification than the M-Series humidifiers. So, if you want more humidification than the M-Series provides, you're not going to get it from the Resmed.

In terms of selling your machine - while $550 for a barely used machine + humidifer + mask may seem like a good deal to you, it seems kind of high to the folks here. One big reason is it won't come with the 2 year warranty. I don't know how often CPAPs themselves have problems but I'm sure some do. In addition, the M-Series humidifier tanks have a known issue with leaking and under warranty they get replaced for free. It's $40 to purchase a replacement tank from cpap.com. My tank developed the leak and it was long after I used the machine for two weeks.

Just things to consider...

insurance is buying the Pro and it is that new?

I would want a "clear title" not some lien on it if I were buying it (an no I am not interested in it).

Thanks for the advice. No offense but a couple of you need to research prices better and to learn how to write coherent cause I couldn't make heads or tales out of a couple posts like Jules... Jules do you work for cpap.com or billmyinsurance ?

I think I will pay cash and buy a new M-series auto and then deep discount the M-series Pro. I think what Jules is saying is my insurance is buying the Pro and since it is so new it is in the 3 month rent to own period therefor it really isn't mine yet.

I had overlooked this fact and I think I better not sell it until after the 3 months is up.

Does anyone know if since I am in my 3 month rent to own and bought through billmyinsurance can I return it to billmyinsurance and just pay for what rental I have used. I should have just waited and bought it outright cuase billmyinsurance as nice as they are ends up with about $1500 for about $750 worth of product.

Very good point about the warranty, Thanks... I like the c-flex and I do get numbers off the Pro. I just couldn't believe the price for the s8 Auto and jumped on it without thinking it through. Again thanks for the advice. I should just calm down and live with the Pro. I average 1.9 AHI with it. It is far better than the original remstar tower with remote I had originally and the Solo LX Apria ripped me off with.

For some reason the Solo LX seemed to blow really harder than the M does at 15.

No offense......BUT......I think you're being plumb ridiculous.....wanting to trade/sell off a perfectly good (data recording) machine before you even get under way with your therapy.

Get your therapy started and save your coins and THEN in about 6 months to a year if you're having problems or need a backup machine.....buy an Auto.

And NO, I don't work for CPAP.COM or any of its affiliates, either.
