Pain in nostril

Hi y'all, I just started my therapy a few days ago. I currently use a Resmed AirSense 11 and Rio II nasal pillows. Sometimes my machine says I have a "great fit", but I have my doubts when there's all this loud air blowing in my face. Last night I struggled and struggled off and on for hours and finally seemed to find the perfect fit. No air in my face, no extra noise! Unfortunately, I also noticed an annoying pain in my nostril for the first time. I hoped it would go away, but it persisted and I just stopped the therapy. I have emailed my doctor (it's Sunday.) Maybe I should get another mask? I'm 71 years old with sensitive skin. I'll try it again tonight but my plan is to stop if there's more pain. A minor question: I get up to go to the bathroom at night, and I notice on the Resmed website that the machine discontinues recording my time at that point. This happens whether I turn the machine off and back on, or leave it running. What should I do? Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Gary

may I suggest using lanolin on the nasal pillows? it has a slight stickiness to it that will help the mask adhere. look for it in the infant aisle. it's primary use is for nursing mothers and their sore nipples.also, you may want to loosen the straps. take a look on YouTube for mask fitting videos. put the name of your mask in the search field. and watch more than one so you get a better idea.

you should do nothing. the time recording starts back up when you put the mask back on.

I have an AirCurve 10 and if I have to get up at night, I turn the machine off and back on when I get back in bed. The machine seems to pick up right where it should.
