New and trying to sort it out

Post by BonsaiGuy » Fri Dec 19, 2025 7:21 pm

I'm on day 5 of trying to get back to using the CPAP. I'm managing to wear it about all night but I'm having some issues. I had a lot of leaking but I shaved and now the leaking seems to be better. I'm using an Evora full face. I'm a side sleeper so I think that leads to a few leaks. I tried the nasal pillows but couldn't exhale so I woke up feeling horrible.

I seemed to be doing ok last night but I woke up a little after 4am and it seemed like the air was blowing the mask off my face. I have it set min 7 and max 15. Not sure what happened but I rolled over on my back just trying to get it under control. It kept blowing like crazy. I finally disconnected it and hooked it back up and it started at 7 again. I got back to sleep around 5 for a while.

Is there something I did to cause that to happen? What should I do if it does? Is there a setting I should change? When I had it on 6 for the min it seemed like I wasn't getting enough air. I'm including an Oscar screenshot if it helps. Thanks.

1. Your leak rate is OK except for that incident at 4:30. The machine will adjust for leaks up to approximately 35 lpm.

2. For many people, the pressure requirements are higher, sometimes much higher, when sleeping on the back as compared to the sides or stomach. On the back, gravity is directly pulling the soft palate and tongue into the airway.

3.

Just turn the machine off and then back on to accomplish this. If you have AutoStart activated, the machine will turn itself on when you take a couple of breaths.
