DIFFICU=LTIES TO FIND A COMPARABLE MACHINE

Post by Vaffa3volte » Sat Nov 08, 2025 2:25 pm

Hello,
I am new on this; I will try to make myself easily understood. I am using a Resmed Vpap Adapt S9 since 2012, the machine is getting old. I did a sleep study that was a disaster because near where I live the doctors want 3 tests before ordering anything starting with no machine test then with Cpap machine test then with another machine. I have complex apnea, central apnea and something else and need a specialized machine to use. I was able to get a prescription by my old doctor and received a new machine. This machine makes me wake up real tired and sleepy all day, not comparable at all and not like my old machine. I am amazed that so much time wasting to get an answer for a comparable machine and then still unsure. Is anybody experiencing my same problem? Resmed discontinued the VPAP Adapt S9 but never let anybody know which machine is comparable, seems they are afraid to get involved, this is very very hard. Thank you, Franco Martiradonna

The S9 Adapt machine is an ASV machine so.....either the AirCurve 10 ASV or the newest ASV model which is the AirCurve 11 ASV.

Please get a copy of your original study from this doctor. Put it in a permanent file. In the US, it's your right to have copies of your medical records.

In some years, you will again need a new machine. Your doctor may have retired. With your original diagnosis available, you shouldn't have to go through another test. Medicare only requires one test. Most private insurances follow the Medicare rule.

You should also put a copy of your current prescription in the same Medical file.
