pugsy out for awhile

Post by zonker » Tue Aug 19, 2025 4:02 pm

got a call from pugsy. she's in hospital (nothing too serious!) and won't be doing her normal moderator duties.

if you are a new user trying to log in, there will be a bit of delay. I have someone I need to send a PM to who has moderator capabilities.

so while there will be some delays in service, we shall soldier without her.

but that's enough about them.

I just now got home.
I am still not in full form yet.
It actually was very serious and I came within a hair of getting a transfusion.

I lost over half my blood volume with a bad gi bleed.

I assumed it was somewhat serious. So thank you for posting.

I believe Zonker was just trying to keep us from panicking.

I am very big on volume expanders, myself. Even with a low count.

Take your time, please, but we very much look forward to you being closer to 100%.

Meantime, Zonker should be able to keep me in check. Frankly, he scares me a little.

Not good! I had a GI bleed a couple of years ago and ended up getting two blood transfusions and an iron infusion. Plus a gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

It took a while to get over it, so take it easy and don't push yourself until you're fully recovered.
