How to dry the hose
I have two hoses. I clean the active one at the end of the week and hang it in my closet to dry. It can still be moist inside after a week. How do you suggest drying it? I've found little fans that blow into the hose. Do they work?

Easy: Don't wash it.How to dry the hose
What do you think is in the hose that you haven't already been breathing all day?

Re: How to dry the hose
There is zero air flow through the hose. How is the moisture within it, going to evaporate?
after washing, grab the hose at the midpoint and twirl it in circles. The put it on you cpap and run mask-fit for 10 minutes or so.
But the best idea is Granny's, don't wash it.

Re: How to dry the hose
My method every few months....
Fill hose with warm water and a few drops of Dawn dish liquid. Slosh back and forth. Empty the hose of the sudsy water. Run cool tap water through an end of hose. Take hose outside and twirl out remaining water as Dog Slobber suggested. Hang outside in fresh air and sun. Use the hose that night which any remaining moisture will leave as humidification. The residual Dawn dish liquid imparts a pleasantly clean aroma for a while.
My mask and water tub gets a similar treatment at the same time as the hose.

if you have a heated hose, just let the machine do it for you during the day.

Re: How to dry the hose
You'll get a lot of different answers here.
Some folks say to never clean any of your CPAP stuff while others, like me, suggest that you do clean that stuff. It's your machine and your choice.
I clean my stuff with water and white vinegar, once a week.
A freshly cleaned hose is going to take forever to dry if it's just hanging there in the closet with no airflow.
On cleaning day, my hose is of course wet inside, I hang it up for a few hours and then just hook it up at bedtime to my machine and use it that way. In the morning the hose is completely dry.
If you think that you need some method of drying the hose look for one of these battery-operated air pumps that folks use to pump up their air mattresses, or the like. I have one for an airbed and the fitting on the pump is a perfect fit for my CPAP hose. I don't use the pump for drying, as I stated above, but one could use these air pumps for drying your hoses. No, the air is not filtered and yes, it's the same air that you're breathing in your room.
YMMV

Re: How to dry the hose
If you have lungs like that you don't need a battery-operated air pump. Might be an issue if you're trying to dry your CPAP air hose though.

Re: How to dry the hose
On the infrequent occasion that I wash my hose..I drape it on the heated towel rail for the day....as I do with my mask and straps(but more frequently).Rich Boston wrote: ↑Tue Aug 05, 2025 12:44 pmI have two hoses.
