Why Am I Waking Up??
I'm hoping some of you OSCAR experts can help me figure out why I am waking up overnight. Last night I woke up at 12:26am (not sure why OSCAR appears 1hr off), I peed and went back to sleep. I checked OSCAR today, and it shows my flow rate flatline roughly 2 mins before I woke up. It did this a few more times as I woke up. Is there anything that can be gleaned from this?
Background: I've been dealing with severe daytime exhaustion for a while. At home and in-hospital sleep test indicated my AHI at 6. I recognize that is a very low number compared to others. Truthfully I'm suspicious sleep apnea isn't my issue, but I digress. I've been using CPAP for about a month. I'm fairly comfortable with it at this point, but haven't noticed an improvement hence why I am motivated to dive into the data now.
Thanks in advance!!
Edited post to include full night capture and machine settings. Note - it was a bad night with the kids, hence why my usage was so low.

Talk to a sleep MD - show the notes here and see what's going on.
Re: Why Am I Waking Up??
Welcome,
Please post a copy of your sleep report with your info redacted.
Your minimum pressure is too low for an adult , raise it to at least 7 cm.
This higher minimum pressure may help with these unscored flow limitations, flattened breath tops and the short obstructive apneas, under 10 seconds. This might have been what woke you up.
Please post a full night also, not just the zoomed in charts.
Please show the full device settings also.

It would be easier for you and more informative to members helping you, to get a free account at SleepHQ.com and post the link in this thread. Your data will redact personal information.
It's not necessary to consult a doctor at this point.

Re: Why Am I Waking Up??
sleepyZach was asking for help for the reason that he was waking up.
I offered a suggestion that might help.
ResMed underscores flow limitations, imo.

Re: Why Am I Waking Up??
OSCAR pulls the time clock from the machine's clock. If your machine clock is an hour off then OSCAR will be an hour off.sleepyZach wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 10:53 amLast night I woke up at 12:26am (not sure why OSCAR appears 1hr off)
Unfortunately the AirSense 11 model machines don't have a clock you can set. All you have available to set is the time zone and even that is unavailable for patient changing unless you erase all the past data first.
Or....just wait until this fall with time change and it should go back an hour and correct itself.

Sorry if I'm being dense. ChicagoGranny recommended I create a SleepHQ account. Is that what you are asking for as well?Jdougc74 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 3:55 pmWelcome,

Re: Why Am I Waking Up??
Your breathing data looks decent. I would like to look at your most recent night. Can you upload again to SleepHQ and post the link to your latest night?sleepyZach wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 7:23 pmThanks for the suggestion: https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_ ... 16d30a5779
1. Assuming you had a sleep study, can you post a copy of the summary? Redact personally identifying information.
2. Why did you get a sleep study?
3. Please list all drugs and supplements you are taking.

1. Sleep studies summary below.
2. I got a study due to severe daytime sleepiness.
3. None.
Polysomnography Report:
Interpretation:
1. This sleep study was performed to evaluate this patient with reported symptoms of snoring, hypersomnia, and prior diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea
2. No evidence of sleep initiation or sleep maintenance insomnia
3. Sleep architecture demonstrates all sleep stages, though with an increase in percentage of light sleep and decrease in percentage of REM sleep
4. Somewhat prolonged REM latency of unclear clinical significance
5. Mild obstructive sleep apnea with a component of upper airway resistance (AHI of 6, total RDI of 19)
6. No significant nocturnal hypoxemia
7. No significant periodic limb movements of sleep
8. This study was followed by an MSLT
MSLT Report:
This study demonstrates this patient to have a mild case of objective daytime hypersomnia. Mean sleep latency time was 14.4 minutes. There were no sleep onset REM periods seen to suggest presence of narcolepsy. Patient's hypersomnia could in part be related to the mild obstructive sleep apnea and upper airway resistance syndrome, noted on previous night's polysomnographic study. Clinical correlation is suggested.

Re: Why Am I Waking Up??
Look at the two periods of steep pressure spikes. Are you perhaps rolling from your side to your back at those times?
You are also getting some high mask leak around 2:00. Is that waking you?
