A couple of mask problems

Post by fretted7117 » Fri Jul 18, 2025 12:35 pm

I'm using the BMC F6 full face mask. It's a minimal contact one. I couldn't find it in the equipment drop down list, but you can see an image here: https://easycpap.com.au/products/bmc-f6-full-face-mask

I'm new to CPAP and just looking for some advice so I can decide what to do about my mask.

Issue 1: I keep the machine lower than my head and off the floor, and keep the humidity low because I was getting rainout. I also got a hose cover to help with that. But now I'm getting condensation in the mask, but not in the hose. Is this something that a mask cover could help with? It's also been warm here so I have a fan running in the bedroom; could that be part of the problem? (That may be a really stupid question - Please be kind!) My solution has just been to take the mask off, dry it out, and put it back on a couple of times a night, but doing so is waking up my partner so that's not ideal.

Issue 2: When I put the mask on, the seal is good. No leaks. It feels snug but not uncomfortable. It stays like that for most of the night, but it's been waking me up early in the morning because the seal has become loose and I'm now getting noisy, uncomfortable leaks. Would that be to do with the condensation problem? Or is it something to do with moving around during my sleep that's somehow loosening the mask? The headgear doesn't feel any looser but idk.

Is it all just maybe that my mask is crap??
