So I’m wearing a chin strap and have tried multiple different masks only to have found out that the F40 small wide works best for me. However I’m still really struggling with air leaks and I don’t really know what to do.
I still have really bad fatigue and brain fog and despite the low AHI I’m basically bed ridden today. However my doctor (who I am going to see on the 11th for more intensive testing) thinks there could possibly be another issue. This is because my AHI pre CPAP was about 7 I think, but I was so exhausted I would physically collapse. I’m also gonna try to look into ADHD meds while I’m at it cuz apparently that may help.
It’s been like 3 months and I know CPAP isn’t a magic bullet but I feel like I’m doing something wrong. I know not to pull the straps too tight too and have tested and ruled out a thyroid issue, fixed my low iron (did nothing) and ruled out diabetes. I really didn’t wanna have to make a forum post but from what I’ve seen yall seem to be the best at this kinda thing.
Is there anything on this that tells me why the leaks are so bad?

Have you tried other styles of masks? It has been my observation on the forums that Full Face and nasal cradles are the most leak prone mask types. So, have you tried a nasal pillow mask?
Seems that with a low(ish) AHI it could be sleep disruptions from all those leaks that has you tired.
I see on your chart that you are at 10cm-14cm with epr3 so down to 7cm. but your median is over 11cm. That means you are not getting real therapy. It looks like you are on a ramp in the beginning? Have you thought about going to 11cm min with epr2 and turn the ramp off?

I will try that tonight thank you! Also I don’t think I’ve tried the nasal pillows but I have sensory issues due to autism so it may be hard for me- but I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Hi Anxiety-Cryptid. Not sure I understand the sensory issue. Would that be near the same as a phobia?
I have never had an issue with small spaces (been cave crawling) But the first time in an MRI tube I freaked out. Dr. Explained it was a 'situational phobia' because I was feeling unwell and didn't know what was going on. And my less than brilliant brain decided that it didn't like the MRI tube. Yet I can wear a very tight and confining full face motorcycle helmet. Our brains are amazing yet nutty things aren't they?
I sure hope you are successful in trying the nasal pillows and that they stop those leaks.
