I was diagnosed with OSA 13 years ago. It was my only study, though I am scheduled for a consult with a new doctor next month. My provider dropped me not long after we started due to some issue between them and my insurance company. They abandoned their CPAP machine, a REMStar plus c-flex, and I've been using it ever since.
A couple nights ago, I awoke to what felt like an obstruction in the hose. I can exhale fine, but as soon as I began to inhale, it felt as if the flow was instantly cut off (greatly restricted) until I exhaled again. I disassembled the machine and found nothing that could have obstructed airflow. I even ran compressed air through the fan. Still, the problem persists. I'm not resting well and just trying to limp across the finish line to my doctor's appointment. Any suggestions what I'm experiencing? The hose is intact and not collapsing anywhere. I've experienced the same problem with my old mask and hose. It's just the over the nose mask that came with the CPAP.
Also, any advice on choosing a new machine? Is buying one an option or are these always leased through a DME?

99% of the members would only recommend one of two machines for your case.

You will need a prescription from any doctor, doesn't have to be a sleep doctor.
