Hi fellow cpapers,
I have been on cpap for several years now with mixed results. My problem is that lately I have been doing a lot of tossing and turning, struggling to get to sleep. And then when I do, I have crazy dreams that wake me up again! Then, I am aware of my mask and the machine and cant tolerate the noise coming from the machine.
I use a resmed 11 with nasal mask
I know this is pretty random but I am at my wit's end. I just want to fall asleep and wake up 8 hrs later after a restful night!
Ok, rant over

Get a free account at SleepHQ.com. Upload your machine's SD card to that account. Post the link to your data in this thread. SleepHQ redacts all information that would personally identify you.

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?
Any other physical or mental health issues going on?
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

A few months ago I kept waking up from vivid dreams and feeling like the mask was glued to my face. The worst part was this buzzing awareness of the machine, I couldn’t un-hear it. That mental noise just wouldn’t shut off.
What helped me was adding CBD oil about 30–40 minutes before bed. It didn’t knock me out, but it took the edge off the overstimulation and helped my body settle into the routine. The dreams got less intense too
Life is something to do when you can't get to sleep.

I can't sleep with my machine unless I use a noise generator. Its not that my machine is noisy (ResMed S10, now ASV) as much as I hear the noise changing as I breath. I use a small Electrofan noise generator set right next to the inlet side of the machine. I also have found that some masks are noisier than others, again its not so much that they are really noisy as much as I hear myself breathe. The ResMed N30i or P30i is quieter than the Respironics DreamWear masks which I've also used. Earplugs make it worse rather than better. The noise machine helps.
