Winter Nasal Congestion

Anybody have a solution for this? I was having some congestion issues during the summer and I turned the humidity setting down to 2 and that helped. But, with winter starting up, the congestion and resulting headaches have returned. I didn't have this congestion problem when I lived in a warmer climate.

You don't say which humidity setting you are using in winter. ???

Which machine and hose (heated/not heated) you are using?

I had the humidity setting on 2 during the summer but turned it to the lowest setting of 1 last week. Didn't seem to help much. Using a Resmed Airsense 10 without heated hose.

When you have congestion, does your AHI change significantly? Are your tracking your AHI with OSCAR or SleepHQ? Or at the least, checking it on the machine's display?

I normally would say see an ENT. But, if your CPAP therapy is ineffective when you have congestion, it would be good to know before seeing the ENT.

Sleep therapy is still effective. AHI is good at 0.5 even with the congestion.

Have you considered turning the humidity setting up? Perhaps your nose is craving more humidity now that winter is here than it wanted in the warm summer months.

Have you considered turning the humidity setting up? Perhaps your nose is craving more humidity now that winter is here than it wanted in the warm summer months.

I might give that a try for a night even though reducing the humidity settings has helped reduce congestion in the past.
