Does Breas Z2 travel cpap have same battery problem as Z1?

Post by j3g » Tue Oct 29, 2024 8:33 am

I had a Breas Z1 auto-cpap for travel for several years, and really enjoyed how it made it possible to travel light. Then one day I got "error 33"--basically, the tiny UNREPLACABLE lithium battery that powers some "always on" features had finally gone dead. Battery replacement had to be done by the manufacturer (I'm not particularly handy) and would run hundreds of dollars. So I tossed the unit, swearing never to buy another from this manufacturer.

A half dozen years later, I'm in the market again, and the Z2 does look good. But does it have the same unreplacable battery problem, giving the unit a lifespan of only a few years? TIA!

I have a Z2, and no, it does not suffer from the same error. I only have used it for travel in the last few years, but I actually used it for an extended period of time back in 2019 when my Airsense 10 went defective.

If you were happy with the Z1 apart from the error 33 bricking, the Z2 should work well for you.
The other unit that may work is the Resmed AirMini. You can get adapters online that allow the use of other masks and hoses.
