Resmed Aircurve 10 Vauto UARS....in the UK

Post by didkosv » Fri Oct 11, 2024 7:23 am

Hi, guys lets tell about me.
I am 28 years old male and i live in UK.
From nearly a decade i was experiencing waking up a few times per night and overall i never felt refreshed. Also i snored but i never thought i might have a sleep disorder. Over time it progressed and it become harder to motivate myself to go to work.
So before 2 years i decided to made a private sleep study and i was diagnosed with Mild OSA or more likely UARS. The AHI was 6.5. I bought APAP Lowenstein Prisma SmartMax. It was easy for me to start sleeping with full face mask. I was hoping that it will help me significantly but actually it helped me partly so i can work and not feel so bad like before. The symptoms are- Fatigue, Brainfog, Bad memory, Dificult to concentrate, Imposible to study, Bad cognition, Yawning all the time.

Before 1 year ago i had a sleep study with NHS and i had low AHI- 6 so most likely i have UARS
In the begining of June i had a Tonsillectomy cuz i really had bigger tonsils -Grade 3. Unfortunately i dont feel better.
In the future i will get DISE through NHS and probably i could get another surgery but this wont happen anytime soon.
So 2 days ago i received my new Resmed 10 Aircurve Vauto.I have this settings set
mode Vauto
max IPAP 25
min EPAP 5.6
PS 4
Trigger Med
Based of the OSCAR screenshot how to optimise the machine.
I am open to any advice you have how to optimise my settings and get better sleep.
Thanks in advance

Hi didkosv,

You say you "received" the Aircurve 10 – does this mean you bought and paid for it? Or are you beholden to someone or some agency for its use on a long-term loan basis, in the way that equipment supplied by the NHS is?

And have you or your doctor/ medical professiona assessed yourself against the standard hyper-ventilation check-list?
