Do we have a for sale section here?

Post by dieselgal » Sat Apr 07, 2007 12:43 pm

I thought someone mentioned one but don't see a section specifically for that. I would love to try the oracle the comfort curve, and possibly the hybrid.

I think this is a great idea. For those people without insurance (like me) it is difficult to keep purchasing masks seeking the elusive . . . no leak, comfortable sleep.

I have made it about 4 hours on the hose!!! (two-weeks into treatment)

Feel somewhat better . . . but would love an eight hour night!

I would love to try a swift or breeze . . . I don't have anything to trade other than a P&K full face mask (used one night) so if anyone has one, please let me know how many $ . . . thanks!

I was told that the site isn't set up yet. And I don't know if that is still in the works.

Usually, people just post what they want, as you did. Or what they have for sale.

mask sales

Post by blamm » Mon Apr 09, 2007 8:30 pm

I have purchased or rather paid for a mask here and the check was cashed but the mask was never sent even tho I asked and asked and asked. There would have to be some way to keep from being cheated like I was

Also be weary of some trades! I did a trade with someone and sent me out like I said and never received my part!

Hmmm, I've sold and purchased several items from this forum, and never have had a problem. But, usually the person I deal with has been a forum member for awhile. Kinda like an old friend. ...

There again, I have a tendency to trust people. And if someone can live with themselves after being dishonest, then I don't worry about it.

I have made 4 or 5 trades/purchases/sales on here with only one tiny glitch. Although, for sales I would personally only go through PayPal. Its quicker and there is a level of protection.

Great folks around here!

Perhaps members who have been stung should name names (after giving the seller/buyer a chance to correct the problem)

I disagree about Paypal protection. The buyer has much more protection than the Seller.

If you pay for something via Paypal, and aren't happy or don't get your item as stated, all you have to do is file a complaint with Paypal. Over 90% of the time, Paypal rules in your favor. It can be a big Scam for some Buyers vs Sellers on Ebay. Many sellers are no longer accepting Paypal because of Scam artists.

Regarding sales --
I think it's remarkably generous that our hosts, cpap.com, allow some private sales through this bulletin board. After all, they are in the business of selling CPAP supplies, so every time we sell to one another they could consider it a sale lost. On the other hand, I assume that they consider the good-will this site generates to be worth more than the couple of sales they might loose.

Case in point, I've gone out of my way to buy my CPAP accessories through cpap.com because I appreciate this service.

Jeff

I totally agree with you there! I have a personal paypal account which they have tried to force me to upgrade to accept credit cards which I refuse to do. Then its like you said all some loser has to do is complain and they will usually rule for the buyer even if he is lying. I have excellent feedback of over 1500 sales and yet one time someone purchased something from me, received it, left me good feedback, then filed with paypal and said a child of theirs had made the purchase. Paypal took the money from my account and didn't even contact me! I happened to notice and filed my own complaint and because the person had left me FEEDBACK they gave me the money back. I just don't want to deal with that crap.

Or let forum members know when you have had a deal go through as planned with another member. I have sold a mask, traded twice, and am in the process of buying one right now. The members I have dealt with have kept in touch by personal messages, exchanging tracking numbers, etc. and all has gone very smoothly. The mask I sold went to Canada and took forever and I was ready and willing to reimburse, but the member waited so patiently and it went through just fine. Just my 2 cents worth!

At the same time, twice I've received counterfeit money orders, one a U.S. Postal and one drawn on Wells Fargo Bank. The Post Office was of no help at all and Wells Fargo lectured me that I shouldn't accept money orders from people I don't know. I thought the whole object of M.O.'s was that they are safe. I've also had two problems with PayPal buyers, but in each case PayPal saw through it and ruled in my favor. They never took a dime out of my account, they just froze the amount in question.
