Scramble That Brain! (Cognitive Shuffling)

Post by lazarus » Sat Sep 07, 2024 8:15 am

The technique:
"As you’re falling asleep, . . . purposefully think of unrelated objects and items. There should be no relation between the objects or rationality explaining their link. As you continue scrambling your thoughts, your brain will effectively ‘switch off’ from trying to make any sense of . . . them, distracting it from anxious thoughts and processes, and allowing you to fall asleep peacefully."--Lauren Jeffries.

There should be no relation between the objects or rationality explaining their link.
Mall, manatee, mug, map
At the mall, I saw a mug that had a manatee on the front and a map with directions to Three Crystals Springs on the back.
Ant, apple, attic
She got an apple from the attic and it had an ant on it.
Trainers, tickle, table
The trainers had us using a table for one of the exercises which caused her nose to tickle her toes.

This is not going to work.🙎‍♀️

:D

Well at least neither of us has any problem with overthinking things.

I think the main thing is to find some way not to stare at the ceiling while contemplating possible incoming meteors or worrying about one of the grandkids taking up skydiving or something. Maybe doing the random thing can help some who need an easy brain-sleep hack.

Whatever you do, don't try to mentally balance your budget.

Yeah. My budget has been mentally unbalanced for a long time.
