Noise levels

I've always run a fan in the bedroom, even in the winter. I like air moving and I like some continuous noise of some sort. During my sleep study, their machine kept me awake for a while, it seemed to have a regular cadence, as I breathed. I told myself at that point that I wouldn't have that problem at home, I would just crank up the fan a notch and it would be OK. I never hear the machine over the gentle steady fan noise. I became accustomed to the steady noise thing while in the service, sleeping on ships and aircraft. It works for me. You do what you have to to make things work somehow.

ok, i found the name of the earplugs. This probably won't help Sleepy-eyes, as she has already solved the problem, and can't use earplugs anyway. Maybe somebody else will find this useful, even if only for flying they are made by Howard Leight company, and they are the AIRSOFT type:
