Anyone heard of the Respironics Auto SV?

Post by babydoss » Fri Apr 06, 2007 8:46 am

I just spoke w/ Dirk at Respironics (a prior sleep tech turned tech support person). He is GREAT!!!

He told me about the Auto SV that has just been released THIS week in the US. Dirk says that this is the FIRST machine that is able to treat "periodic breathing" (the main characterisctic of Cheyne-Stokes) although he says they are not supposed to use word CS, but periodic breathing.

It sounds to me that THIS is the machine to treat my hubby's complicated case of OSA, CAs & Cheyne-Stokes. Dirk says that even though there are certain pressures that are "set" as an average, if an event occurs the machine will AUTOMATICALLY go up to whatever pressure is needed to clear the event - no matter if it's a higher pressure than prescribed or not.

WOW!!! I am EXCITED for my hubby!!!

Thanks for everything!
