Hi there, new poster here.
My Cpap is old but it works. It's a ResMed S9. IPX1. Says DC24, 1.25A (FG), 3.75A (sys)
another section says H5i
I'm going camping with my son and his Boys Scouts troop soon for a week in Colorado, high altitude. What battery pack can I get that will last me thru at least one night? I'll find somewhere to charge everyday, or try to. Cost is not my main concern, practicality is.
In the past for local trips (Texas) I've used this jump starter and it lasts me about 5-6 hours a night. https://www.safety-devices.com/cat-cj10 ... p-267.html
I don't think I can take this on a plane. I'm hoping to find something we can take the plane. Otherwise I'll have to drive.
Thanks in advance!

So after reading other threads and some googling, I found this: https://a.co/d/0RXkFly
Pilot-24 Lite CPAP Battery/Backup Power Supply for ResMed AirMini, AirSense 10 Pap & S9
Anyone here try it? does it work? I don't fully trust Amazon reviews
Sorry for the ignorant questions, I'm not an experienced camper and never had encounter this before. Thanks

What about something less expensive? I have set up solar panels with a sealed lead acid battery to use with my Airsense 10 during power failures. Without humidifier, I can get several nights on one charge.

I haven't used that particular battery. But I have used a pair of these Freedom V2 batteries: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/univer ... attery-kitOCAustinguy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 8:18 pmSo after reading other threads and some googling, I found this: https://a.co/d/0RXkFly

I use an Aircurve 10 and the dual battery set up easily gave me 2 full nights of use on a camping trip in upstate NY just after Memorial Day this year using my humidifier in passover mode. I most likely could have pushed it for three nights between recharging the battery, but since there were plugs in the camp bathroom and the batteries recharged in a matter of a few hours, there seemed to be no point in risking a third night.
Yeah, these batteries are a bit expensive, but they're small and easy to carry. They take up no significant room in the tent. And they are approved for air travel. The Freedom V2's are also compatible with both my AirCurve and my Dreamstation, and I was looking for something that would be compatible with both machines.

This kind of thing is a good choice for power failures when you have plenty of room and the weight of the battery is not an issue. But it most likely can't be taken on a flight and between the weight (24 pounds) and the size (5 1/2 x 8 x 7 1/4 inches tall), it's going to be problematic to camp with (except for RV camping or car camping with a large tent) and it definitely will take up quite a bit of room in the tent if you're tent camping.prodigyplace wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 4:32 amWhat about something less expensive? 1st - whatever battery you decide to buy - I would call the airline you will travel on and get/give them the specs of your battery.OCAustinguy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 7:49 pmI don't think I can take this on a plane. I'm hoping to find something we can take the plane. Otherwise I'll have to drive.
2nd Spend a week or so at home using the battery and recharging it so you know if it will last for what you want.
Always always use the DC cord for your cpap. Using a battery to convert to AC does waste more power.
