I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com
Despite Pugsy's best efforts, CPAP.com has not yet met two critical needs for this forum:
1. Fixing the connectivity problems, and
2. Making it possible for the moderator to delete old attachments. (Ideally, the moderator could also deputize other forum members to help with this.)
What is wrong with CPAP.com? Is this increasingly dysfunctional site their idea of good advertising?
And I can't help but feel that by their inaction, they are in effect dissing Pugsy, who is the heart, soul, and brain of this forum, as well as all the other amazing people who contribute so helpfully.

Re: I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com
CPAP.COM (AKA: The absentee landlords) should be ashamed of themselves. The disrespect they show Pugsy, regular contributors, and users in need of assistance is obscene.
These forums are not great because of them, they are great despite them.
The forum's popularity is because of its members. Many of whom often refer users to purchase items from CPAP.COM.
They obviously think it's OK to just stick a forum up, let others do the work for them, let others manage it with limited tools, and their gratitude is shown with silence.
The current problem is just one more in a long string of similar occurrences.
The current problem:
The Page navigation problem from last October:
The Avatar problem from May 2023
Other problems:
They are becoming the Philips Respironics of the CPAP forum world.

I tried sending an email to the email address on the error message, but it gets returned as undeliverable. Has anyone else had this same problem? Is there a workaround for it?

Ironically, upon submitting the above post, the problem occurred and the post was lost.
Fortunately, I buffered it with a CTRL-A, CTRL-C.
How many have lost posts, or responses and then not bothered to recreate it.
CPAP.com, do you give a crap about your forum members, many of whom are your retail customers?

Re: I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com
Yep.
I assume CPAP.com is no longer in a position to afford to provide what it takes to run a dependable, functioning forum. Newbies are better off continuing to go elsewhere and letting this place continue to grind to a halt, as things stand now.
If it all ever gets fixed, post a sticky at the top so I'll know when it's safe to come back and start posting again. Until then, I'll focus on more productive stuff that relates to improving quality of life, like rearranging my sock drawer.
My respect for you fine, helpful posters remains, though. If all of you decide to bail and focus on a forum elsewhere, post where you go so I'll know where to look for you.

I was going to go with "cheap bastards" myself.
Where's HangFire when you need him?
I think checking in has simply become a bad habit.
Perhaps going Cold Turkey is the best plan. Change PW to a bunch of random characters and don't save/remember it.

I've posted for a while over on Apnea Board with the user name Dormeo. I'd find it really hard to stop visiting this forum, which has meant a lot to me, but already my effort to make this post has failed twice. Life is too short for this.

I don't know about the others but I won't be going to any other forum.
I will just retire if it should come to that. I will do like Rested Gal.....get busy with my gardening and flowers and all that.
Jason's forum would have been my first choice but his forum has imploded and no longer functioning at all and I don't think he plans to fix it.
I won't do the apneaboard forum either. I have zero patience for all their rules and regulations over there.
Doesn't leave me with any decent options and to be honest.....I am getting a bit burned out.
Same old questions, same old responses and same old bull shit. No one bothers to really research their problems or potential solutions. Same old know it alls that think that the world should revolve around them and their thoughts.
I haven't seen a new problem in years.
My patience level would have to climb a mountain to just get to 0.0. It's in the red right now.

Pugsy, it's painful to read about your burnout. You've been such an incredible figure in the apnea world for so long, helping countless people preserve their health and get a decent night's sleep. If you decide to cultivate your garden, I hope it gives you great pleasure. (I remember early on after I joined you mentioned straining your back building a stone wall on your property. I was in awe of you starting right there!)Pugsy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 11:36 amDoesn't leave me with any decent options and to be honest.....I am getting a bit burned out.
