Philips Dreamstation Symbol Question

Post by Zaiforce » Thu Feb 01, 2024 9:30 pm

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody could help me with identifying a symbol I have noticed recently on my mum's BIPAP machine display?

The BiPAP machine is a Philips Dreamstation BiPAP AVAPS and the symbol is a circle that appears near to the inhale/ipap "i" symbol when she is wearing the mask.

I am just curious what it means as it usually only appears when the mask is on her, if the machine is running with the mask off the symbol only shows up now and then.

Thank you everyone! Pic below:

The manual documents it as the Patient breath indication, with not much else.

This is consistent with it only being on while the mask is on, as without the mask on, the device can't determine when a breath is being taken.
