Most, if not all of these examples, look like arousals to me. Meaning the event that follows is most likely a post-arousal breathing glitch that would not be scored as an apnea on an in-lab sleep test.

I'm getting ready to go to bed, so I don't want to go into any additional detail right now. If I have a chance tomorrow, I'll try to say something more specific.

Oh wow, that's good to know! Honestly, after glancing at a few threads made by people with similar issues and seeing Pugsy post examples of post-arousal breathing, I was starting to suspect it. I really don't know why I'm waking up so much though... I don't have any real reason; it's not like I'm in pain or anything.

Sometimes we just don't have anyway to know what is causing those spontaneous arousals. It sucks because we are going to have a hard problem fixing something that we don't know what it is that needs fixing.
Heck....sometimes we know the reason but have difficulties fixing the problem. Been there and done that and do it every night still yet.

BTW....I agree with RobySue....I think all the most recent zoomed in snippets are prime examples of post arousal flagging.
You weren't sound asleep. You may or may not remember the arousal/awakening but it happened. You breaths show it clearly.

Hello again everyone! I wrote a long reply (mostly an update with a question) but unfortunately I accidentally deleted it lol. But here's the gist of it (still pretty long haha): I'm still discovering new positive changes from the BiPAP 9 months in. My attention, thinking and focus has gotten a lot better, at least so far in the semester, which started last week. I'm able to actually just start studying when I want to and not like freak out. I still do switch back and forth between studying and playing games and stuff, but I do actually return to the material. I think it helps that I'm less anxious. My therapist says he suspects my ADHD diagnosis from a long time ago might be less accurate than we thought - it seems like a lot of my symptoms which never responded to medication are improving a lot with better sleep.

Okay, another good thing: I've been having pretty bad dry mouth sometimes since I am a mouth breather at night, and I went to see my dentist last week and they prescribed me an Rx toothpaste for dry mouth that has extra fluoride! They said it's good for people on CPAP etc. therapy who tend to breathe through their mouths and get mild gum inflammation as a result of not having enough saliva. And it really has helped! I'm not having to take my mask off to drink water anymore. It's called Allday 5000 but I imagine there are a lot of similar toothpastes from different companies.

Now, the question: my machine used to cut days off at 12pm, which I've heard is normal for Resmed machines. It now cuts them off at around 1:35 PM. The time has been drifting by about a minute every few days. I check the time when I wake up because of a time-sensitive medication, so when I look at the OSCAR data, I can tell it's wrong although it claims it's still cutting days off at noon. Is there anything I can do about that? I get that it doesn't really matter but it feels a little silly that eventually the machine will be thinking it's noon at like 2PM. My sleep schedule is already strange enough lol (I'm writing this reply at 3:27 AM).

Thanks for all the help people have given! It was especially a relief to find out my apneas were generally arousal breathing and not real apneas that didn't respond to therapy.
