Hi all,
I only got my APAP last month, so I'm a new user and not super familiar with all the ins and outs. I use a nasal pillow mask and occasionally wake up with water dripping down my upper lip. Sometimes my pillow has a wet spot from the moist air coming out of the vent. There's always condensation in the mask and the mask's tubing (but NOT in the climate line tubing) in the morning.
The climate control on my machine is set to auto; OSCAR says the temperature is 26 C and the humidifier is off every night. I have the machine set on a little table about 6 inches below my head, and the tubing attached to a hook a foot or two above my head. I also wrapped a towel around the mask tubing (though not the heated tubing) last night. From what I've read, these are all things that should help prevent rainout, but I'm still having it. Am I doing something wrong/is there something more I could be doing? Have I identified this incorrectly as rainout?
If helpful/relevant, my room is usually about 60 F and the humidity hovers around 65%.
Any help, advice, or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

Re: Rainout with humidifier off?
Your own exhaled breaths contains moisture and likely is condensing in the mask because of the cool bedroom.
See this thread posts number 2 and 3 for various options.

You are going to have to warm the air in the mask more than you are doing now.
Routing the hose upwards with the hose hanger means the water can't go anywhere except stay in the mask.
Water can't run up hill.
First thing I would try is cranking up that heated hose air temp.

Re: Rainout with humidifier off?
Thank you for the reply - tentatively, it looks like adding a barrel cozy has solved the issue. I really appreciate your time!
