Another help request - rkt charts

Post by rkt88edmo » Tue Nov 28, 2023 2:26 pm

Hi all, thanks in advance, cpaptalk has been valuable for me, going to try and do a tune up, no major complaints but anything that can help me sleep better I'm willing to try.
Looking at the averages, probably need to set my mins to 11 or slightly above that mark - i recently lowered them to see if anything new was going on. Not sure why my for her machine is set max to 15, going to up that. My recollection is that I didn't used to be so leaky, so need to figure out whats disrupting my seal I supppose. Also jumped on the BF and have another airsense 10 on the way, one of my machine has a noisy bearing since i let some water get in the machine.

Thoughts?

i don't see any problem with the max capped at 15. the charts you've shared don't show the max trying to go past it.

dunno if it'll help your sleep, but you might want to increase the minimum. in therapy, it usually does the bulk of the work. if you bumped it up, it won't take as long to get to the pressure it needs to start it's work.

also, have you looked into sleep hygiene?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Personally, I would leave the minimum pressure at 10.0. You ran at 10 for a long period one night. Also, 10.0 is close to the 13.0 maximum you are sometimes hitting. I would change the maximum to 20.0 just in case you have an unusually bad night. Otherwise, it won't help you since the machine is going no higher than ~13.0. The machine will not increase the pressure any higher than needed.

Your leak levels are OK assuming they are not awakening you or causing dry eyes or you are mouth breathing. Do you have any dry mouth?

Your Flow Limitations are a bit high. Do you have any nasal congestion? Have you had your airway examined by an ENT?

But yeah, like Zonker, I would recommend studying good sleep hygiene on a few medical web pages.

Note.....machine mode is the Auto for Her mode and that mode is known to make mountains out of mole hills when it comes to FLs.
Any nasal congestion going on by chance?

Also note that the For Her mode sometimes isn't very aggressive when it comes to responding with pressures in the lower teens. I just won't go higher sometimes despite the fairly active FL graph. I am reasonably sure that if the other auto mode was being used that there would be more pressure variations.
How important is it???? Dunno. Might not be important at all.

Has the regular auto adjusting mode been tried at all? If it has...what happened? If not...might be a viable experiment to be doing just to see what happens.

Thanks for putting some eyes on and helping me out. Going to run at 10.4 min and bump the max up to 20, going to move my for her machine to cpap mode. Haven't felt particularly stuffed up.

cpap mode is a fixed pressure mode.
Did you mean the other auto adjusting mode?

There are 3 modes available
1...cpap mode
2...regular auto adjusting mode
3...for her auto adjusting mode.
