Nasal mask questions

Post by ThisIsMyUserName » Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:00 am

I’ve been using nasal pillows the last year, and it’s been good. I switched to a nasal mask (the Wisp) a week ago because I’ve been getting recurring infections in my nostrils where the nasal pillows touch my nostrils. A few questions:

1) anyone else ever get infections like this? I’ve tried disinfecting the nasal pillows daily, but the infections keep coming back (probably twenty times over the last year). I’ve seen multiple doctors and joined has any other explanation other than “try switching to a mask”
2) apparently I have a very large nose because I really like wisp mask, because it’s so light, but my nose is pretty tight in the XL mask. Do they make an XXL?
3) are there other nasal masks I should try that are light and non-obtrusive like the wisp? I’d like to test a few that are like that, but others I’ve looked at seem much larger, heavier.

Thanks!

Have you looked at the ResMed Swift FX Nano? It's similar to the Wisp. Sizes are limited but the wide might work for you.

And no....the Wisp cushion doesn't come in an XXL size. Sorry.

Alternately maybe one of the under the nose cushion masks might be less likely to irritate your nostrils and cause infections.
Maybe something like the ResMed AirFit N30 nasal ... under the nose cushion masks.
It's quite light and airy and comfy (well as much as any mask might be) and the size of your nose won't impact things as much because it doesn't cover the end of your nose.
It's actually my number 3 in preference when it comes to masks.....and that's saying a lot because I am very hard to please.
