Sleepstyle F&P - loud blowing + whining noise

Post by bibbie » Wed Sep 20, 2023 5:00 am

Hi,

I am facing a problem with my Sleepstyle machine from Fisher & Paykel.

I hear a whining noise (changes in pitch when breathing), and on top of that also just continuous loud blowing noise. The blowing becomes worse on higher pressure.

Both sounds are really loud and intolerable.(60db on high pressure).

The sound is coming from the machine (same sound without mask).

I tried putting the machine on a towel and filling the humidifier, but this did not help.

What could be causing this?

How old is it? How many machine hours? Have you carefully checked for air leaks?

It has 3700 hours.

I think there may be air leaks through the rubber on the humidifier tank. I fixated it with some tape, and the blowing noise seems to be lessened.

Replacement humidifier tanks are not expensive. I would keep a spare on hand.

But there is still some loud blowing and a sharp whistling. The sound comes from the machine, from the part where the air enters the CPAP through the filter.
