OT - Haemoglobin measuring app

Post by Respirator99 » Sat Sep 09, 2023 5:41 am

Hi all

I want an app to monitor my haemoglobin without the need for frequent blood tests. I’ve found two mentioned online - both work by measuring the colour of your nail bed -but they don’t appear in the Australian Apple or Google stores.

Does anybody know of a suitable app available in Australia? Alternatively, does anybody know how to access the American stores from Australia?

Many thanks.

Try spelling hemoglobin American style.
Maybe that will help?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried it both ways, also searched for anaemia (both spellings) and looked for the specific apps I had read about.

Somebody on TOOF suggested using a VPN so I'll try that tomorrow.

Hopefully this will only be a temporary situation and I won't end up needing anything. It's just that getting "proper" blood tests are inconvenient, requiring a GP visit each time to get the blood test ordered.

Here in the States, I might tend toward this sort of thing, for accuracy reasons:

Hemoglobin Test Meter kit Hemoglobin Meter kit Hemoglobin analyzer Anemia Monitor includes 50pcs Hemoglobin Test Strips https://a.co/d/bM0vy00

or

Hb Hemoglobin Meter Hemoglobin Analyzer Hemoglobin Test Meter Kit Anemia Monitor + 25 Strips +25Lancets https://a.co/d/7m5Spdd

exactly what i was going to suggest. i don't have a specific recommendation for which one as it's been yonks since i've used one. but they are dead easy to use and should get you what you need.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
