there was a post earlier about this & I still would like to know if the air coming out of the mask should feel warm. I stopped w/ my treatment a couple of months ago & humidifier about to try again but when I stopped one of the reasons was my inner nose & throat would be cold & I kept having congestion problems. Could my rem heated humidifier not be working? It will use up the water but so die my old C-pap that wasn't heated. Should I just turn up the humidity setting?
heated humidifier
The HH is supposed to heat up the water slightly, so the air can pick up and hold more moisture. It is not a air warmer, the mask you use does get cooler than some. If you get the HH too high, you will end up with rainout. (water build up in the hose. )
Products are made to help that. (Hose Covers) (Heated Hoses) To stop rainout with out them, turn down the temp on the HH, sleep with the room warmer. Also with a nasal mask, you can be letting air out through your mouth, that will make it feel colder and dryer, and it also will keep your treatment from doing it's job. A FF Mask and or taping mouth closed are the best solutions for that. Jim

With a hose cover my nose was still freezing. I got the Aussie heated hose and love it. My nose stays nice and warm all night.
