Hello all-I am a newbie here and this is my first post but I will do my best to share my information in the hope that others here can assist me.
My first CPAP machine was the Philips Responics with that foam/sponge grey filter. Then I learned about the recall because the sponge was the problem, yes?
With the help of my local DME, I was able to sign up for the recall and patiently wait. Last year I could not wait anymore out of fear of using a machine that was being recalled so I purchased the AirSense 11. This machine is fantastic and the bluetooth technology is an asset. My previous Responics didn't have bluetooth tech or an app for support.
Just this week my recall arrived. I believe it is the DreamStation 1 - model #UDSX500S11 - Am I correct this is the original and not the black version #2?
Also, was the DreamStation 1 also part of the recall and was it also the filter?
At the present time I don't want to replace my AirSense 11 for this DS1 but I am hoping others here can provide some feedback, details and insight to make sure the machine I had and my current machine and the machine I received as part of the recall are exactly what I think they are.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Recall received but many questions
Re: Recall received but many questions
Filters were not the problem. If they were, Philips could have simply sent us all replacement filters. The problem was with the sound abatement foam inside the machine. All the affected models are listed on their website.

Quote.." Am I correct this is the original and not the black version #2? " Pretty simple...... If it's black it's the DS2...If it's cream color it's DS1.

Since you prefer the Resmed, continue using it.
Unless you still owe money on the Respironics, you may do as you wish with it.

Re: Recall received but many questions
Good thing is I don't owe money on the Respironics. That machine is in the bag, put away and not coming out anytime soon. I just need to figure out what to do with the DS1 they sent me & won't be using at all. Just a shame how Philips has treated their customers. They dropped the ball from the jump and imagine if I waited all this time for a replacement to arrives instead of being pro-active and securing the AirSense 11?chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 4:14 pmSince you prefer the Resmed, continue using it.

You can likely do as you please with the replacement machine.
Considering the second round of recalls---Damifino.
