Re: Thread hijacking question for members

Post by Pugsy » Wed Apr 26, 2023 2:19 pm

Since someone hijacked my thread and seems to want to take it over....I am going to remove everything but those comments since I have my answer to my original question but it might surprise a few people.
Originally I was going to be more lenient but I changed my mind.
This has pissed me off and the next time I see a thread hijacked I won't be so lenient.

Rude...just plain rude.

Now I will go remove everything but the hijacker comments and abandon this thread.

I just contact the office manager - she was ecstatic to hear my voice - and she said she would ask the sleep tech to look into it.
Also ask if they use EnsoSleep AI Scoring (they are partnered with Cadwell) and if the study was automatically scored and if the RPSGT and Sleep Physician reviewed and edited it (i.e., or did they just "push the button" and didn't confirm the accuracy of the computer scoring).
Would the study be considered valid without chin EMG?
In a PSG you could probably get by pretty easily, but IMO on an MSLT, especially when REM is in question, you need a do-over.

So you're hijacking the thread about hijacking.
While I figured you’d appreciate the irony, I didn’t think my situation was something that the forum would provide input on.
So apparently the irony is going to get us both banned.

Although this will be a first for me-- banned simultaneously from all 3 forums!!

I just hope I can finish an important thoug

Well...I didn't appreciate it. You should have started a new topic and not take over someone else's thread/topic without at least asking or offering apology instead of making a joke about it.
Rude...plain old rude.

Have a nice day.

The thread/topic is now yours.

And no...I am not going to ban anyone here...at least unless you all start calling me the C word for not wanting my thread totally taken over my others and going WAY OFF TOPIC.

Now if you start calling me names or using profanity addressed to me....the banning button is super easy for me to do and I already used it 3 times this morning on spammers from India.

Well, I really need to take the blame, I should've told him to start a new thread.

Sincere apologies!

I had been hoping that you would do just that but you didn't and I should have spoken up sooner but didn't. My mom is in a really bad way and I just don't have the time or energy for cleaning up messes unless I just have to. My patience level is in the negative numbers right now and last night's idiot using the C word (not just on me but others as well) left a really bad taste in my mouth and caused the patience level to plummet.

Apology accepted. Move on and all that crap. I was pretty much done with my part of this thread anyway.

Hope you can help Callen get the help he needs.

EVERYONE....stay on topic or remove your comments before I have to.
And last I knew....hockey wasn't the topic.
I am going to be more hard nosed about OT stuff in threads especially when done just to hijack a thread...again.

FWIW It’s not Rubicon’s fault- it’s mine. I’ve apologized to pugsy in private and let her know that it wont happen again.

Prime example of why context is necessary.

On an unrelated note, FOX and CNN are hiring hosts.

Edit: Nevermind. Makes sense now.

In a PSG you could probably get by pretty easily (without an EMG channel)...
That said, arousals in REM are scored by EMG changes. "Getting by" does not mean "right".

"Getting by" means "faking it".

(Saw this and sez to self "HT screaming F could they do that?)

Similarly, you can't have an arousal if you're already awake:

to do. I’m inundated by perpetual sleepiness and I feel like I’m being gaslit by my providers. They all say my AHI of 8.5 (REM AHI 18.5) isn’t the cause of my sleepiness
I'd say they're FOS.
I went to an ENT for evaluation. He was condescending and asked me “What do you want me to do about it? I only do surgery.” I was like.. I wanted to make sure I didn’t have any physical abnormalities causing my sleep apnea. He quipped, “I could get your AHI down to 0, but it won’t treat your subjective sleepiness. My MSL is objectively pathological (5.6minutes across 4 naps). When I mentioned my REM AHI/RDI, he said, “This is why I hate these tests. People can go through and find any reason to ‘explain’ their problem.” The procedures that he said would get me to an AHI of 0 were and I quote, “I’d take out your tonsils, put a couple sutures in your palate, and a couple sutures in my nose.” The visit summary diagnosed me with: nasal turbinate hypertrophy, deviated septum, recessed jaw (retrognathia). Also said I had a large tongue in comparison to my mouth as well as smaller mouth (as evidenced by crowding). Not to mention I’ve ground my canines down and they’re now flat.. which seems like an attempt to keep my airway open during sleep.

IDK what to do anymore… it feels like I’m being gaslit by doctors who are used to treating an older (50+), obese male population who present with classical OSAHS. I personally believe I have both UARS and OSAHS, but then again, what do I know?

I’m a 25 year old male, with a BMI of 24.3 and weight 155-160lbs.

Man… this is depressing.

If I mention anything about this to the RPSGT or neuro, they’ll remind me that they’ve been doing this for 500 years and know what they’re doing.

My neuro literally told me, “I pretty much trust what she (the RPSGT) says.” And that she’s better than him at reading them.

Do I even have sleep apnea?

I’ve seen the errors you’re talking about. It looked to me like there were many appropriately scored hypopneas/OA’s, and even a number that weren’t scored. I’ve spent at least 10+ hours teaching myself about scoring and interpreting my results.

IDFK what to do. I’m so exhausted. I just want to feel better…

What you know, or at least seem to know, is that your 'medical team' are incompetent.

I hope you can find some others, alternatively, have you considered self treatment?

Yeah well you know how long it takes to go through just the sleep channels (non-respiratory channels) of a PSG that is total crap with software that doesn't allow editing (although the reader does have quite a few options. Did you adjust the filters? More on that later) and is 900 pages long?

A LFT, that's how long.

Anyway, for example here

with all the channels wavering the ground is probably poor, and this is exactly what it looks like-- a BFM.
