@Miss Emerita thanks!
New update..Apr 29. So last night the X tape method was an improvement comfort wise. I still wake up, though and don't feel well rested yet. I powered through with the mask during my 1:45 wake-up but 4:45 I was done. Device said 5.5 events. I should feel pretty good but I guess I just need to give it time. May need to adjust pressure up but I don't think I want to mess with that until I'm several weeks in. Any other thoughts?

Re: New update. Still not great. :(
Apr 30 made it to 4:45. That's progress. Device says 2.7 events. Also an improvement. I think maybe I woke up at 1:45 but fell right back to sleep. Weird how it is so precisely timed. Next I need to keep adding time after 4:45 to really get the right amount of sleep. Test will truly be if I actually start feeling rested. If not that's when I guess I will start a deeper data dive. I do feel a little more stuffy than usual. Is that a sign of anything?
I also have a Fitbit. Thoughts? Does it tell us anything? My heart rate is rarely below resting and it's measures of REM and deep sleep say I'm getting zilch. All of which seems pretty accurate. Tbh. Sadly I had hoped the lower events shown on the resmed11 would correlate with a better looking Fitbit sleep profile. :/

Re: New update. Still not great. :(
My own experience with Fitbit data tells me that they are not worth much at all. I have CPAP data via Oscar, and I've also used a Dreem headband (no longer being sold), which has an EEG capacity. The Fitbit data just don't jibe with either.
Do you go to bed at around the same time every night? I ask because it is pretty common to wake up after a period of REM sleep, and when sleep "architecture" is normal, REM sleep will occur roughly every one to two hours. So I'm wondering whether your regular timing for wake-ups tells us something about your sleep architecture.

My FitBit is set to Sensitive, and the FitBit data does a good job of correlating with Oscar data in terms of identifying when I am restless or when I am likely having microwakes that do not last long enough for me to remember.Trainer4346 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 5:42 amI also have a Fitbit. As for sleep staging? I take the FitBit with a pretty large grain of salt in terms of telling me how much REM or Deep Sleep I got during the night.
So is your FitBit set to Sensitive or Normal? And how many wakes, particularly really short wakes (i.e. red dots at the top of the sleep stage graph) are showing up?

Thanks @Miss Emerita and @robysue1
Yes I do go to bed at the same time. I'd say I fall asleep by 11 which would put 1:45 at 2.Hr 45 later so not sure if that fits with a certain stage or not. My Fitbit is set to.sensitive and I have tons of red. Many are blips (about 20) but others (4) like the 1:45 are longer. Not feeling well rested. I ended up taking a long nap late afternoon. I'm going to concentrate on trying to extend wear past 4:45 for a week and then look at Oscar to see what I can see. When I need to share I think I remember a post about what graphs to grab but not sure HOW to post. On Google Drive or something?
5/1 I should be glad I made it to 7am but I feel like crap. I remember one regular wake up And one when my hub woke me up because of leaking waking him up. Also dry mouth and the water chamber is empty. That's never happened. It's rainy here so I would think the outside humidity might reduce the water use not increase. My $100 fitbit seems more accurate than my $1000 device. Fitbit basically says poor sleep on all measures and resmed11 says no leaks and just 2.7 events, 'yay for you'. Hrumph.
Also trying to understand ramp. I *think* it just starts at 4 for the first few minutes of using it and then it's at 10 the rest of the night. Right? It doesn't go back to 4 at points during the night. Right? If it is going down that might cause me trouble.

Re: New update. Still not great. :(
Leaks will empty the water chamber. Did you ever hang laundry out to dry? It dries out much faster on windy days. In order to maintain pressure in spite of a leak, the machine blows more air - more dry air passing the humidifier will dry it out.Trainer4346 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 7:30 pmAnd one when my hub woke me up because of leaking waking him up. @ozij ha! Great explanation! And it also ties in with my next observation. Why does my $1000 machine tell me 'yay no leaks' when all evidence suggest otherwise including waking up hearing /feeling the leaks, or having the hub hear them!?

So.....what is the machine telling you about leaks? What are you using from the machine to think it is saying "yay no leaks"???Trainer4346 wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 7:06 amWhy does my $1000 machine tell me 'yay no leaks' when all evidence suggest otherwise including waking up hearing /feeling the leaks, or having the hub hear them!?

Re: New update. Still not great. :(
ResMed bases everything about leak reporting (good/bad) in relation to the 24 L/min line in the sand.
And the machine LCD data for leak reporting is a 95 % number and all that means is you were AT OR BELOW that number for 95% of the night.
You may have experienced some leaks but they weren't bad enough for the machine or MyAir to get all excited.
You would still get gold stars and Mr Smiley.

I didn't feel better until I got my leaks down to 2 or less. A leak strap helped with that.

May the Fourth Be with You.
It sure is frustrating when you think you are doing everything right and you still suffer. I don't think I'm getting significant leaking. The nasal pillows are pretty secure and I have my mouth fully taped. The device doesn't show signif leaks either. Yet my events last night count 5.7 per hour.
