Ahh, a conspiracy theorist.
Re: It knows when you are sleeping, but will it tell you?
Many patients seem to think that "research" means checking their social-media feed for the latest, most divisive echo-chamber nonsense so that they can then be trampled by the latest herd mentality of choice.
That is the most common way that actual useful scientific info tends to get "hidden."
It doesn't require any guv'mnt conspiracy for that to happen; it is baked into the algorithms of social media that generate the most income by keeping people with differing opinions from finding one another and hearing one another.
The world is asleep; someone needs to tell it!
End of middle-aged man yelling at cloud.

Used to be people were ignorant by accident--now it's just plain stubbornness.

Re: It knows when you are sleeping, but will it tell you?
Are you asking for the citations that prove it was a real conspiracy theory or for the citations that prove it was a fake one?
Fake conspiracy theories can be just as powerful and damaging as real ones, so in that sense, historical citations easily become superfluous. The perceptions have become people's "reality." To too many, lack of proof becomes the proof: "See! They buried the evidence, which proves there was a conspiracy!"
During the early days of COVID-19, attempts were made to coordinate a cooperative approach as a unified effort against a deadly contagious pathogen. Did the involved public-health agencies cooperate too much? or too little? Yes, and yes.
Either way, the public has become too divided to cooperate with anybody about much of anything anymore.
So people die.
The end.
Roll credits.
Except that the movie continues, and the coming attractions indicate that there is very likely to be even bigger box office for the sequel.
I still maintain that there is no real need for any conspiratorially coordinated efforts to hide information from the public when the public already does an amazingly great job of hiding information from itself.

During the pandemic, it was obvious that when some mentioned "herd immunity",
they were really hoping to "thin the herd".
Assuming of course, that "natural selection" would select themselves to survive.

Have it your way then, but you are doing yourself a disservice.

gentle person made a statement. just wondering about the source or sources that made them feel that way.

Re: It knows when you are sleeping, but will it tell you?
Sorry for hijacking my own thread. I don't really want to continue an off-topic political discussion which may be inappropriate for this forum. If you are interested in exploring the rabbit hole, you can start with the "Twitter Files" that provide evidence of big tech censorship in more or less coerced cooperation with government agencies pertaining to the pandemic and other topics. Then there's a couple years worth of YouTube videos at DarkHorse Podcast Clips where two evolutionary biologists explore the corruption, bias, and censorship of scientific research and debate and the media reporting of science concerning the pandemic.zonker wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 4:06 pmcitations, please?MJS_ wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 1:06 amIn fact, during a recent pandemic we witnessed medical and public health agencies cooperating with federal espionage agencies, law enforcement agencies, big tech companies, big media companies, and even medical journal publishers in an effort to deny the public access to scientific research and debate that could have helped them gain perspective and make informed decisions.
