High AHI and severe depression related.

Post by Wink58 » Mon Apr 03, 2023 11:05 pm

My AHI was 128.5 when I did my sleep study almost a year ago. I am on month 10 of using my CPAP/BIPAP machine for my severe CSA. I am feeling better but deep deep depression seems to be lingering on. Anyone else with untreated severe (AHI over 100) for almost 15 years suffer from this? Does it get better? Its really confusing. Thanks!

What are your AHI and leak levels using CPAP?

What "specific" machine are you using?

In addition to knowing what your average AHI is these days, and what machine you're using, it might be helpful to know if your doctor has diagnosed the reason you have central sleep apnea. High altitude? Drugs/medications? Lung disease? Idiopathic (meaning cause unknown)?

The depression might be completely unrelated.
Please ask for a referral to the appropriate professional.

My AHI events per hour are real low. Average 1 to 3 events per hour and does leak some since i have a beard but not bad. Thats def a big drop down from 128.5 an hour.
