Resmed S8 Autoset II worth upgrading?

Post by horror » Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:57 am

Hi, I got my brand new S8 Autoset II 13 years ago from the US (for much lower price). I didn't use it often (maybe less than 100 nights in total.

Now I would like to take it more seriously and want to try it more consistently.

My S8 seems to be working just fine. I took it to the local authorized dealer and asked them to check the output pressure. It was normal.

Since it's been a long while since I bought this device and I believe technology had been advancing. I wonder if I should keep using this device or I should buy a newer model.

Something about S8 Autoset II:

1) I'm not sure if I got it set right. I could sleep with it though. But I don't find much different after getting up.

2) There's no way to get a report out of this machine. It comes with a data card but I don't have the device for retrieving the data. I can't find a device named Reslink which can attach to the device for recording data then transfering to PC afterwards.

3) Its build is solid. I've seen S9 it looks like made up of crispy plastic...

So should I upgrade it? Thanks.

The S9 was a ResMed workhouse that had a long record of reliability and effectiveness.

^That is your rationale for buying a ResMed AirSense AutoSense - model 10 or 11. (S9 was discontinued a few years ago.) You need the compatibility with OSCAR to "get your therapy set right".

Keep the S8 as a backup machine.
