card reader out of stock

Post by cpapernewbie » Thu Mar 29, 2007 4:20 pm

Hi, newbie here. My first post.

after browsing in this excellent forum, I tried to buy the card reader for my Resp M Series Auto C-Flex

The two-factors:( http://www.two-factor.com/) list out the item at $24 but no stock

The Secure_tech site, also recommended by this forum displayed a price of $47, practically double the two-factor price

Anybody want to sell their card reader or give me a tip of where to buy at $24 or less

Thanks

Give two-factors a day or two and check back. The website indicated that they had one in stock the day I ordered mine. A couple of days later it indicated they had over 40 in stock.

I just checked two factors at http://www.two-factor.com/shop/index.php?productID=115 and they say they have 18 in stock.

I am having troubles talking to my smart card viewtopic/t18489/SmartCard-error-800402 ... rePro.html
so when I tried to get a replacement from them and found that they didn't have any in stock, I ordered a PCMCIA reader on e-bay. It hasn't arrived yet but I am hoping that it may prove to be a less cantankerous device than the card reader.

John, I know almost nothing about computers, card readers, etc., but I have read that the only reader that the smart card and Encore Pro can use is the Infineer Card Reader. So, be prepared for the PCMCIA reader to not work.

If it does work, please post which one you got and if it was tricky getting it to read the card.

thanks John

I ordered one yesterday and paid them with PayPal

what Linda said is true.

This kind of card is not the usual memory card, it is a smartcard - credit card with chip

So you might want to check again whether you are buying rhe right device

I went through e-Bay before buying from two-factors and cannot find any suitable reader. If I can find any used one, I do not mind buying it

Got mine from two-factors the buying experience was pleasant, and it only took about ten day's to arrive at my door. I would advise you to wait for more stock and then buy from two-factors.
