Pressure pulse in AirSense 11?

Post by Imatryin » Mon Jan 02, 2023 9:11 am

I apologize if this has been asked and answered. Working off my phone, my searches aren’t very successful.

I recently switched from the 10 to the 11 and noticed that the 11 has pressure pulses, which drive me insane—especially because I am usually just falling asleep when they occur. I’ve looked through the manual and I don’t see that this is even something that should be happening.

Can someone confirm that this is a new thing with the 11 and if so, can it be turned off somehow.

Resmed machines don't do pressure pulses. Only Respironics machines do pressure pulses.

Can you provide an example (OSCAR detailed report) of what you are experiencing and calling "pressure pulses"?

I wish I could. It doesn’t show on the report, it just happens— two puffs of air stronger than the current pressure. I thought it was me at first, but now that it’s happened a few times, I’m sure it’s the machine and not my imagination or a dream.

I am going to assume there is something wrong with the machine then.

Thank you for your quick response.

Could you be referring to the EPR where the exhale pressure is lower than the inhale pressure?

I agree. When I am first using my machine, the EPR tends to have a bit of feedback with my breathing. It kind of gives a sensation of a pulse, but it usually evens out when my breathing becomes consistent with the machine. Maybe 1-2 minutes max? Do you have your machine on autoset or are you on a fixed pressure?
