New machine, need OSCAR set up help, please

Post by booksfan » Sat Dec 31, 2022 8:56 pm

Hi,

I got a new AirSense 11 Autoset to replace my AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her (now my backup machine). I've been using Sleepyhead, then OSCAR for the past 5 years with a Toshiba WiFi card as I was constantly forgetting to take the card back upstairs to put back in the machine. It has worked very well once I figured out how to set it up.

However, apparently it is not as simple as taking the card out of the AS10 and putting it in the AS 11. The machine is wrong, no mode or pressure settings are listed, although the pressure shows up on the chart. I'm guessing I need to set up a new profile, but that does not seem to be enough, because there is not a choice of correct machine. Do I need to wipe and reconfigure the card  , assuming I can find the directions and figure it out again (I do remember that it was not easy, at least for me). Since my data is downloaded onto my computer, I guess that would be OK.

Can anyone give a not terribly tech-savvy older woman some assistance? I'm the one who calls tech support and gets put on hold so the support person can either go bang their head on the wall and take a deep breath before coming back on the line, or laughs uproariously to their co-workers, OMG you won't believe the woman I have on the line!

Fingers crossed and TIA

Did you wipe the WiFi SD card before you put it in the new machine?

There is data on the SD card that is tied to the particular machine's serial number, and if those files are not removed before you put the card in the new machine, that can trigger some weird behavior---particularly if you don't let the machine reformat the card.

I would suggest that you take the WiFi card out of the new machine. Back the files up on your computer's hard drive and then erase and reformat the card. Then reinsert it into the new machine and when it asks you if you want to format the card, say yes.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, I will try that.
