Athletic tape that is self adhering comes on a roll that allows you to cut to size. Ive used it for my bleep.
For covering the hose?

i use an old lightweight sock for the hose but you could try the athletic tape there also.
mThe athletic tape is great for shape and cut to fit the pesky barrels.

Tape would be good for whatever small hose cozy doesn’t cover as well.

Let me see if I can post a pic

Edit: I hope this works. I cozy the dreamports too.

edit 3 sorry when I was first working this out, I use some white medical tape to hold it in place. I don’t keep that on there. It was just part of the trial and error.

The sock is one of those that you’re supposed to wear under your regular socks to add an extra layer. I wasn’t using it so I cut off the end of it and used a couple of scrunchie hair ties. It’s heavy. I considered covering the entire hose with the athletic tape, but I just never got around to it because I went back to my N 30.

if I can manage not to mangle them when I take them off, I reuse them on the next set of dream ports

When I started getting rainout with a climateline hose and the machine on full auto for both temp and humidity, I started suspecting the hose / hose connection.
Normally, certainly when the hose temp is 27, you should feel the hose's immediate warmth when you touch it in the beginning.

Try to:
  1. Disconnect the hose from the machine.
  2. Disconnect the machine from the electricity as in "pull the plug out of the wall"and wait a bit
  3. Reconnect the machine to the electricity and wait a bit
  4. Reconnect the heated hose
  5. Go into the settings, turn both the humidity dial and and the temp dial clockwise to the very end - that turns them both off
  6. Run the machine for a minute with both humidity and temp set to off
  7. Turn the machine off
  8. Set up the temp and humidity you want.

You may call the above "The semi-voodoo technique of resetting the climateline control system".
I only discovered point 5 after I went through 1-4...
But except for taking a few minutes of your time -- there's no harm in this kind of voodoo and it may help in jogging the system into warming the hose.

And always make sure the machine's "on" indicator is lit (the machine is not in standby) when you reconnect the climateline.

I didn’t know the tube heater and humidity settings worked independently. I thought it was just auto and it would heat up and make sure rainout didn’t acquire.
Anyways I turned my tube temp to 82 and had climate control on auto last night. Woke up a few times with minor throat dryness, but then I changed the temp to 84 degrees with auto climate control and I woke up with barely anything the rest of the night. Going to try 84 tonight but I like the warm air….I went right to sleep.

congrats!

just sticking my nose in here (HA!) to mention for others reading the thread. we are each different and this is one of the key differences: what works for jl won't work for me. and quite likely won't work for you.

it's a process of trial and error until you find what works for you.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
