Hey All!

First, thank you again for contributing so thoroughly and helping me to examine this problem. I have some kind of exciting news (well, if you find this stuff exciting anyway.)

I converted back to the Resmed Airsense per the suggestions on the board.

Somehow in my haste and brain fog; I had forgotten that I had updated the settings to CPAP mode instead of APAP. (setting of 12) This does NOT match the current APAP settings on my Dreamstation.

This was previously recommended to me by a sleep technologist; but again I was waiting on a titration or secondary study to prove it.

Last nights sleep was MARKEDLY different than what I remember experiencing in the last .. few years? It's hard to even say. I slept through the night and felt like I was dreaming the whole time. I did linger in bed this morning; still working on the CBT-I improvements.

Most importantly - while certainly not perfect I am MUCH improved in my daytime fatigue. Even as I sit as my computer.

To my eyes when I look at Oscar / SleepHQ reports it appears that my sleep is much less fragmented than it was? When I zoom in on flow limitations have less spikes and appear to be more consistent just as Pugsy showed me it should be. It's still not perfect but I would say to my eyes it looks improved?

While this isn't a "cure" it's still a step forward and hopefully enough to take to my Doctor while I wait on titration.

I know most folks here choose APAP settings over CPAP; but in this case I think I'm going to try leaving it here for a while just to see if there's consistent improvement.

If it ain't broke...don't worry about trying to fix it.
Some people just do better with fixed cpap mode for any number of reasons and that's just fine.

Glad to hear you actually slept better and reaping the rewards. Crossing my fingers that it holds for you.

Fixed cpap mode was on my list of things to suggest to try.

Thank you! It's a wonderful feeling to feel like a somewhat normal person for a day. Appreciate it. :)

Androids too have a night time setting.
But it isn't only the color of the light that the makes us restless with out phones near by. It's the FOMO -- which is sure to keep us worried about all those things were missing out while we (God forbid) let ourselves sleep deeply. Better to keep the phone outside the bedroom.

I've tried a weighted blanket - it helps me. It's not a "chain blanket" as described in the paper. Just weighted.

The first one I got was only based on the 10-15% rule -- and I erred on the too heavy side. Rather expensive mistake -- but decided it was worth correcting.

Summer, its fine on its own. Winter it's underneath my normal light and fluffy duvet.

Never thought of a weighted blanket (especially being borderline menopausal.) I do like the idea though, maybe so because I have a nice heavy comforter and duvet cover on it. So it's kinda weighted though different I would wager from the ones on the site you posted. I did not know they had different weights. Thanks for sharing.

I think it’s virtually impossible to have good sleep quality and still wake up feeling like crap. CFS is marked by sleep dysfunction — poor-quality, non-restorative sleep. It’s one of the diagnostic criteria. That is, if your sleep quality is good, you will NOT receive a diagnosis of CFS.

The only way to know if your sleep quality is good or not, aside from subjective feeling, is to undergo a sleep test in a sleep lab or use a wearable EEG device during sleep, for example. One might THINK their sleep quality is fine, only to discover via a PSG that it is not good at all.
