Has anybody here had a DME change the settings remotely in --say--the past 3 years, EXCEPT in the situations when a physician prescribed a different setting and sent the order to the DME to update the machine accordingly?

In other words, as DME's consolidate more and more into a few big companies with their eyes on the bottom line and not on actual patient care (lip service or not), do they really have people whose job it is to check each machine remotely and make sure the settings match the prescriptions on a regular basis? Perhaps when it's time to document compliance, but even then it's been years since I have seen anyone here complain that the DME monkeyed with their settings remotely without telling them. Back in the day there were tales of DME's and/or clinics resetting via the SD card when people brought them or sent them in manually to show mostly compliance data. But since it's all been "over the air", has anyone actually had that experience???
Yes. My machines settings were switched twice over the air this May. I have no idea why but since putting it in airplane mode haven't had an issue.

Interesting! Was it reset to your prescription?

I think Kaiser can and does monitor OTA, cheaper for them than having someone come in with their machine like in the old days, particularly since Covid.

No it was set to much lower than my prescription. It was put into s mode from 8-10 or something like that. I was prescribed 18-25. It was my backup machine that I bought used so it didn't come from a DME It would be interesting to know if it was the previous owners prescription.

Maybe when I was older, but I'm younger than that now.

But, in the grand scheme of things, when it comes to the probablity/risk of a DME actually doing something, or anything, that doesn't put immediate money in the pocket of said DME, I consider it perty dang low, myself. Probably much better things to worry about. It's more the principle of the thing that irritates me. Which is how I personally read the OP's statements, myself. I tend to default to assuming much is a bit tounge-in-cheek unless I read evidence to the contrary.

Really interesting! My guess is whomever sold it to you didn't really have the right to sell it (their problem, not yours!), and the DME was checking compliance and settings and reporting YOUR compliance to somebody or something

The machine came from a trusted source, here.

I was staying in the hotel after the house fire so the first time I wondered if one of the maids was messing with it but when it happened a second time, I put it into airplane mode and it never happened again. It was a very weird thing.
