MyAir when relocating to another country

Post by Bunny » Sat Nov 12, 2022 11:35 pm

Hi, I wonder if anyone has the experience of buying their Resmed in the United States and then re-locating overseas. I bought my machine in the US and has since been relocated to Asia. It appears that MyAir works only in if it is physically located in the country in which it was bought. Or so the app tells me. Have I got this wrong? Does Resmed not realize people travel?

Hi Bunny,

You don't say which country in Asia. Asia is a big continent. :)

Check here to see if myAir has been set up where you are.

Is the MyAir concern for compliance or informational purposes?

ResMed devices, and most M2M SIM cards, simply don't work in all countries. Sometimes the reason is because of cellular system compatibility. Other times, it's because they don't have a business relationship with that countries cell carrier.

First world problem--in a third world country.
Think of it like glamping, but with a budget.
Be happy you can use your cpap, but put in an sd card,
so your data will be available when you get back to civilization.

If you have an SD card, a computer, and a card reader, you can use OSCAR.

Thanks everyone for your input. Sorry I haven't responded sooner but was up to my neck with packing and stuff. I'm relocating to Hong Kong for perhaps a year depending on whether my contract gets renewed after that. But it seems that MyAir works only in the country where the CPAP was bought. And mine was bought in California. I've never used MyAir before and sort of a newbie to CPAP anyway. I've heard of Oscar but I'm not smart enough to interpret the data. I'm told MyAir interprets the data for you.

I don’t really understand OSCAR graphs either, so when I have a question I post a picture or two here. Plenty of knowledgeable lads and lasses here that can help.

Have fun in Hong Kong. I have been there many times and still have a valid Chinese Visa. Even lived there for 3 months and enjoyed it. Very nice folks.

There is more data available on the machine's display than in myAir. You can learn how to access it by watching videos of your machine model on youtube.
