Can't register My ResMed AirCurve on MyAir

Post by DittoDan » Thu Aug 04, 2022 1:57 pm

Hello frustrated newbie here.

I tried to register my brand new ResMed AirCurve 10 on MyAir. The app said my machine isn't covered in my area (Detroit, MI suburbia).

Since I do engineering for a living, I love to see graphs and reports. I was hoping MyAir would of given that to me (not sure). Can the machine sense that you had apneas?

I see the machine has an SD card in it. Can I remove the card and look at the data? Or do I have to have a program to run the data in?

Thank you for your help,

Dan Bovinich

You will love using OSCAR. In the meantime, find your model machine on youtube and learn how to get into the machine display to see basic reports.

Welcome to the forum. Your machine probably has the 3G phone modem in it. As others have already said, you will get much more information from OSCAR than you will from the MY AIR site. Everything you can get from MY Air, you can get right off of the front of your machine. I have been using an Air Curve 10 VAUTO for over seven years and I quit looking at MY Air about six months after I started treatment.

I only used Sleepyhead (the precursor to Oscar) off and on for the first year.
Since then, I have only consulted the onscreen sleep report .

Did you get your machine from a local DME? Is insurance involved? If insurance is involved, you likely will have to show evidence of compliance. DMEs use myAir to show compliance to insurance companies.

DMEs and insurance don't use myAir for compliance.

Uploading data to ResMed's servers, and then being accessed by authorised entities, is not dependent on registering the device to myAir.

Brand new machine? It should connect to MyAir anywhere. The 3G thing is one possible reason, but they haven't sold those machines in years. You can confirm that by looking at the sticker to see if it says 3G anywhere on it.

MyAir is a great complementary tool to OSCAR.

I got the machine from a local medical supply company (Binson's) that Blue Care Network works with. When I tried to log into MyAir, it said that it doesn't have cellular data. The technician at the sleep study clinic said it was because of the "Chip shortage".

I also heard that the insurance company does track me for compliance (another person at the sleep clinic place). Which has to be false, since I am not on Cellular data.

Its a shame they didn't make them have WIFI or BlueTooth and a phone app.

I imagine that when I go to the sleep clinic for follow-up, they will review my data on my SD card. I noticed in their papers they stress for people to bring in their SD cards to appointments.

Thank you for your help,

Dan Bovinich

When I logged into MyAir, the first thing it does is ask what machine I have. Then I input an 11 digit serial number and a device number. After submitting the info a big red message comes ups saying it doesn't have wireless tech. See picture

Thank you,

Dan Bovinich

While I was aware that there were some AirSense 10 machines without a modem and thus no ability to use MyAir this is the first time I have heard it also pertaining to the AirCurve model line.

No big deal. You aren't missing much by not having MyAir and you will be much happier with OSCAR anyway.
MyAir doesn't give you anywhere near the details that your machine can gather and OSCAR will show you that detail.
With MyAir it wasn't much more than what you can see on the machine's LCD screen. Pretty lame.

I emailed ResMed and this is what they said:

Thank you for contacting myAir Support.

Sorry to hear that you were unable to enter your device into myAir. Upon checking the serial number, however, we found that your machine is a Card-to-Cloud, or C2C device. This device does not feature a wireless modem and as such is unfortunately not compatible with myAir.

Please contact your home medical equipment provider if you require assistance viewing your device's SD card data or sharing it with your physician.

Thank you,

Your myAir Support Team

Card to Cloud? How do I do that? LOL! They were so helpful....

They got dumbasses in the naming department.
No one seems to know that to get to the cloud you need some sort of internet access...like a modem which does require a chip I guess.

They (ResMed) has been doing this for a little while due to the chip shortage but it was originally just the AirSense 10 models like the AutoSet. I guess it now includes the AirCurve 10 models as well.
