Night four - Wow!

Post by hayeswildrick » Fri Mar 23, 2007 5:45 am

Just a short update.
Last night was my fourth night on CPAP. I woke up a few times to adjust the mask due to leaks, but I think all of those wakings were in my first few hours of sleep. Then, suddenly, the alarm!

How do I feel? Well, actions speak louder than words. This morning I found myself dancing along with the radio music while I fixed lunch for the kids!!!! They all joined in and we had a little breakfast party. Whooo eeeeee.

Still have some challenges, but this morning I'm very encouraged, and I'm hoping it will keep getting better.

Press on!
Jeff

Feeling encouraged

Congrats. Your story well illustrates how sleep apnea affects more than just the sleeper. Just think of what your kids have been missing and the memories you can now begin to make. One of my "life's regrets" is that my younger daughter's last several years at home were with a mother who rarely felt like having fun. Stick with it for yourself and all those you love. Thanks for sharing.
Kathy

I remember my first week on cpap, feel like an extra rush of refreshing oxygenated blood rushing to the brain? man what a feeling.

I say enjoy it while you can, for some of us it don't last long. I liken it to being born, we can't wait to get out then once we do we spend the rest of our lives trying to get back in

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Thanks for that. I was beginning to think it was only me that didn't get the 02 buzz any more. 3 months in and doing fine and always finding out new stuff. Yeah, no more hooooooeeeeee for me. It's slower and more controlled. Like, "I think I should go for a 2 mile run today 'cause I have the energy". I am still working on stuff, like my PLM and seeing the sleep doc. It's a journey of highs and lows. Right now, I'm doing OK, just need to put in 2 more hours per night. Insomniac nut that I am.
