Which resmed bipap?

Post by Hornnumb2 » Sun Jun 05, 2022 9:35 pm

Currently on a recalled bipap asv per the forum recommendation back in 2015. Since I don’t have a provider getting it replaced on recall is unlikely. I sure can’t afford a new asv machine. Could I try just a bipap machine and get some reports for the collective to look at to see if that will work. What machine should I be looking for? Autoset, V, S ? Thanks Michael

So, Resmed doesn't make anything called a "bipap", that's philips respironics only, you'll likely have better luck if you use the right terms when looking.

The generic term for what you want is a 'bilevel' machine. and the Resmed bilevel ASV machines are either the S9 VPAP Adapt, or the AirCurve 10 ASV.

An Autoset won't do anything for central apnea, which is what I presume you 've been prescribed an ASV for.

I have two Resmed S9 VPAP Adapt's that belonged to my late brother, who obviously no longer needs them, one has very low hours, the other has a moderate amount of hours (it was his primary spare machine that he'd use on trips). If you're interested, we can work out an affordable deal for you.

HOWEVER, you absolutely should go to the philips recall web page, and register, because you don't need a provider for philips to send you a replacement ASV.

That said, I always advise people to have a backup machine, in addition to a backup of everything else.
