My body does a pretty good job of telling me how well I slept...or didn't.
I always thought I slept OK, until I saw the results of my PSG

But I agree, I don't think the gadgets are all that reliable, based on what I'm seeing with my Apple Watch Blood Oxygen app. Maybe it helps identify trends, although I'm still trying to see if that's true.

 My body is no more unreliable than a gadget that told me I was sound asleep when I knew damn well I wasn't.
Though I do understand what you are saying. Sometimes we don't realize just how bad things might be. I think part of that is we get accustomed to the new, not so great, normal and think that is as good as it gets.

For the most part my body shoots straight with me now and I remember that pre cpap I knew I slept awful...getting up every hour to pee pretty much told me that.

When I did use the FitBit it was probably decently accurate. It told me my sleep was fragmented....but then I already knew that as well. It didn't do a horrible job in terms of accuracy I suppose but after the 4 AM dog pee break where it said I was sound asleep I took what it told me with a grain of salt.

Like you and the Apple Watch thing...they aren't always infallible but the scary part is people might be basing serious health decisions on potentially unreliable data because they put a lot of faith in these gadgets to always get it just right and sometimes they don't. Trust but verify is a real need.

As you know from my history my sleep quality has been in the toilet more than it has been out of the toilet for a long time now...and that's what I mean by my body is telling me pretty accurately how the sleep thing is going. I don't need a fancy gadget to confirm that fact. I live it every day. Though I do need to update the SCS thread of mine as things have begun to improve a bit. I am starting to see a few nights where the sleep quality isn't as deep in the toilet and again my body confirms it.
It's taken a combination of things to get some improvement and I still have bad nights but I am starting to see some good nights now and I actually feel the difference. Has nothing to do with cpap therapy though and everything to do with those other health issues that we can have that mess with our sleep. Getting old isn't for sissies.

A bit long for true haiku . . .
Maybe a limerick?

Bull Frog is silent.
Even though I have had extensive experience with the use and functionality of several types of different PAP machines,no information in my posts should be put in practice unless cleared by your own medical practitioner first.

Yes absolutely, therapy has helped me sleep tremendously better over the years. I rely on my bipap info more then Fitbit, both provide different info.
How do you get details for your different stages of your sleep from your "BiPAP" machine?
Please explain or maybe post some data as well.
Thanks.
I use Myair for Bipap stats and Fitbit for sleep stages.

I don't trust these gadgets. My Sleep Number bed tells me that I slept terrifically when I've knowing been sick and tossing and turning all night.

To answer the OP’s question, after 11+ years of using CPAP, there’s no question I’m sleeping better. After the first few months, gone were the days when I was nodding off driving home from work every night, endangering myself and others while on the road. Also gone is the feeling of being tired as soon as a woke up in the morning. There was no need for me to analyze the data as from the way I felt I didn’t need to.

Early this year I just started looking at Oscar but I do not have an urgent need to do so, just more of curiosity at this point if there’s a possibility of improving my sleep some more.

Have A Hunch?
Even if I did, kyphosis is highly treatable, in most cases.

If you were tired, sleepy, and miserable back when you're diagnostic PSG came back with 100+ AHI (that was shown to resolve during titration) and then you find yourself energetic, rested, and blessed with a focused happiness after a few months of healing using optimized PAP all night every night, during which time your home treatment machine reports an AHI below 2, at that point I personally believe that "response to treatment" becomes the only real follow-up "test" you ever need.

Response to treatment has a time-honored position for diagnosis of many conditions. It should be considered as a form of diagnosis of SDB too when HSTs fail to provide the arbitrary criteria needed for a PAP trial. If insurance was smart (and they ain't), they'd realize that. Granted, patient perception of sleep may not change muchif actual events are less than 15 AHI, but good sleep is a safety issue for all of us on the road.
The people who confuse "entomology" and "etymology" really bug me beyond words.

The mere mention of the word "hunch" calls up for me the image of Marty Feldman
in Young Frankenstein, misreading the label on the brain jar.
EDIT: Joyfully, I just confirmed that Mel Brooks is alive--at 95.

yup. it's a great shame that we lost carl reiner though. i was given much joy that the two of them would watch wheel of fortune together.
