keep or return?

Post by shaina » Sat May 07, 2022 3:33 pm

I bought an AirFit N30i, and tried it out last night. It was reasonably secure and comfortable, but so noisy that I'm not sure I can use it. (It's supposed to be super quiet so I don't know if it's a problem with my machine or pressure or what. My machine is a travel Z2 I bought to use while waiting for my recalled Phillips to be fixed.I should've just gotten a new permanent machine, I think. )

I have the option to return it, but I like the fact that it has pillow-less nasal cushions. There are times when I have an irritation in my nose and nasal pillows are really uncomfortable. So I'm thinking of keeping if for occasional use. But I wonder if it will wear out so much over time, that that would be pointless? If I tuck it away, will it still be usable next time I need it?

I had a DreamStation 1 with the Dreamwear Nasal cushion lots of a lot of tube noise, I used it almost 3 years. Switched to the Resmed AirFit 30i still a lot of tube noise. I got a Resmed Airsense 11 with the N30i, I was shocked I couldn’t hear any tube noise. I didn’t have to turn machine off to talk to my wife while wearing it, I couldn’t hear my wife before.

That machine is the one supposed to be too noisy - are you sure it was the mask that caused the problem?

It may be the mask/machine combo, but that problem's much easier to fix by using a different mask. :-)

No opinions from anyone on my actual question?

When I kept masks or pillows for future use - not necessarily this one, or Resmed masks - they may have discolored but were fine. As a matter of fact, the company warned that discoloration was possible, and that that didn't change the quality.

Assuming your "actual question" was this:

If I tuck it away, will it still be usable next time I need it?
then the answer is "no".

There are three question marks in what I wrote. Both follow, basically, "does it make sense to keep the mask?" So I don't think it was particularly hidden or obscure.

"keep or return?" in the subject line.
then "
But I wonder if it will wear out so much over time, that that would be pointless?" which isn't actually a question? (see what I did there?) (that last one is a question).

Regardless, your question was answered.

Of course itll still work. Just clean/dry thoroughly & put in a container or bag for protection. Store inside (like, not in your shed) out of direct sunlight. Itll be fine& wont get discolored if you store it correctly
