Purchasing supplies online

Post by Applecheeks » Wed Apr 27, 2022 8:57 pm

Why do some online stores require prescriptions to purchase a mask, while others do not?

Because some online sellers choose to abide by the law and some choose to disregard the law.

Complete mask packages require a RX. It's the law.
Replacement parts of a mask do not require a RX.

Now is it a stupid law? Yeah, probably but it is still the law.

OK thanks, just wondered.
I'm looking at 4 different online sellers for a complete F30 mask, 2 require Rx, the other 2 do not .
Go figure
(thought it might be by state law)

There is also the chance that the ones not requiring an Rx are not complete.

That would make them legal--but you might need to buy the extra parts separately.

Spoke with 4 national online suppliers. Quoted on complete F30 mask with headgear.
3 of 4 did not require Rx.

Did you ask HOW they do it?
Some kind of loophole?
Unassembled, maybe.
Easy to do that part yourself.

I've had experience with online sellers requiring rx for the MACHINE but not the MASK. Maybe their thought is that if you already have a machine then they won't hassle you regarding the mask.

They can send you a Mask Kit (cushion and frame) and a Head Gear and call it a complete mask. Neither of these require a prescription, and you get a complete mask.

It sounds like it’s not what they send you but how they package it. (One carton containing two bags versus one bag) pretty slick.

I'm tempted to start FaceTiming people, have them send me their OSCAR data, and start prescribing things. Could be a decent adventure in my downtime.
