taking meds for enlarged prostrate at 10 pm

I am taking alfuzosin 10mgs once daily at 10pm,I have a pee at 11,12 ,hard to get back to sleep,wat is the best tlme to take the meds

Is there a reason your doctor gave you instructions that differ from the standard?

It is usually taken once a day, immediately after a meal. Do not take alfuzosin on an empty stomach. To help you remember to take alfuzosin, take it after the same meal every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.

FYI: Prostrate refers to lying on one's stomach--prostate is a small gland in men's hineys.
I have to laugh whenever somebody gets it wrong.
There simply is NOT enough room there!

To OP -

I am not a doctor and not offering medical advice. But I do have enlarged prostate and the medication prescribed for me is generic name Finasteride. It says to take before bed on an empty stomach (defined as 2 hours after eating). Maybe (?) finasteride would work better for you than the present med. I used to get up several times a night but have not had to do so since being on APAP. Just a thought.

Maybe alfuzosin would work better for you?

Conclusion: In this 6-month trial, SR alfuzosin was more effective than finasteride, with no additional benefit in combining both drugs.
