So over the past few months I have lost about 20 lbs or so, and reduced my pressure a bit because of this. My pressure was straight 15 but I was getting really bad gas and aerophagia in the mornings from this. I tried pressure of 14 recently but I feel like crap at it and have much less energy, but the aerophagia was a ton better. Last night I tried straight 16 with EPR of 1 but still had bad aerophagia this morning. Any one have any tips on reducing the aerophagia? I don't want to reduce my pressure and do not have access to Oscar or any software unfortunately. Does anyone take a Gas X before bed to help with the gas in the morning? Would this work?

Re: Aerophagia Issues...
You have some data on the LCD screen of your machine. What does the sleep report say?
Try more EPR.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: Aerophagia Issues...
the good news is that you are on a resmed product. you can increase or decrease your pressure by increments of .2, which will help.joeljjk11 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:05 amSo over the past few months I have lost about 20 lbs or so, and reduced my pressure a bit because of this. it's going to take a long time. go back to that 14. then increase it to 14.2. see if that's better. if not, next night 14.4. see if that's better. and so on and so forth.
this is how i conquered my aerophagia. and it took me a very long time. i'm talking weeks. but it shouldn't be so long for you as you only have between 14 and 15 to work with.
good luck!

The protocol in more details

Zonker used this approach and over a period of months was able to increase his pressures to address hs Apnea properly without suffering from aerophagia. Your goal is a Max Pressure with no limit, Min Pressure to adequately address your needs and no aerophagia.
- Set your minimum and maximum pressures sufficiently low, so you don't experience aerophagia. Because your pressures are below what your needs are, you will likely experience more events.
- Keep it at these levels for a week.
- Increase your pressures by 0.2
if you experience aerophagia, go back reduce back- Wait another week, and keep repeating.
Perhaps Zonker will comment further.
